This past weekend we hosted Joy Behar in a rare standup appearance for one of the original stars of The View. More than 1250 people came to see her and she put on a great show drawing many laughs from the audience as she riffed on a variety of topics.

Behind the scenes, though, the show almost didn't happen.

Back-to-back snowstorms in the New York area almost caused her to postpone the show. I received a phone call from the promoter on Thursday giving me a heads up that this might happen. Joy's agent had called him and warned him that she might not get out of the city and make it to Florida. She had to be back to do The View on Monday. She had a gig in Sarasota on Friday night before our date last Saturday. We spent all day Friday here in panic mode hoping she got on a plane and made it to Florida.

Lucky for everyone she was a real trooper and braved the storm and hectic schedule to honor her standup dates. We, and all her fans, appreciate it.
With Broadway back in full swing now that the stagehands strike is over, Disney's latest stage production The Little Mermaid is warming up the box office in New York City while in previews. Read all about it in Variety...
