High School Musical fans -- and there's millions of 'em -- are in for a treat in Coral Springs and other South Florida communities after this October.

That's when High School Musical 2 is set to be released to high schools and others across the country so that everyone can produce this show. Expect to see this blockbuster hit at the 2009 Next Stop Broadway Summer Camp at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

If you like to go to concerts, buying a ticket will be a lot different in late 2008. That's when Live Nation, the largest concert promoter in the U.S., ends its deal with Ticketmaster and starts it's own operation. You'll likely have to go to www.livenation.com to buy concert tickets at that point and it will be interesting to see if this divorce between two heavyweights of the entertainment business results in lower fees for consumers.

The long awaited Disney musical The Little Mermaid finally opened on Broadway last week. I am very curious to see this show come to life on stage and finally on the road several years from now. Julie Taymor is back in action on this show, with the success of Lion King looming over her shoulder. So far, the reviews have been pretty good. Here's one writer's take on seeing the production last week for the first time.

One of my favorite musicals of all-time, Rent, will be closing on Broadway after a historical 12-year run. Luckily, you can still catch it on the road, including here on April 19th for two shows.
